Who we are and what this notice covers
Lichen, Inc. (“Lichen,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. This notice applies to licheninc.com, Lichen event and ticket pages, inquiry and scheduling forms, email and text communications, advisory workflows, and related company systems. A client agreement or event-specific notice may provide additional terms.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect identifiers and contact details; organization, role, and professional information; event registrations, ticket selections, attendance, and order details; inquiry, meeting, and scheduling information; communications and consent records; client-provided materials; public opportunity and public-record information; referral and campaign information; and device, browser, log, cookie, and website interaction data.
Payment-card information is collected and processed by the applicable payment or ticketing provider. Lichen does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers through Ticket Tailor.
Where information comes from
We collect information from you, your organization or authorized representatives, event and scheduling providers, service providers acting for us, referrals, and lawful public sources. Please do not provide another person’s information unless you are authorized to do so.
How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries; evaluate fit and prepare strategy reviews; provide and administer services; process event registrations and tickets; communicate about events, appointments, documents, and active work; maintain records; secure and troubleshoot systems; comply with law; enforce agreements; and, with the required choice or consent, measure website performance and send marketing communications.
Event registrations and Ticket Tailor
When you register for a Lichen event through Ticket Tailor, Lichen is the event organizer and determines why attendee information is used. Ticket Tailor processes that information for Lichen to operate the box office, issue tickets, send operational event communications, support check-in, and provide related services. Event information is not automatically enrolled in unrelated marketing or SMS programs. Any optional marketing choice must be separate.
SMS and mobile information
If you separately opt in, Lichen may send recurring automated appointment, scheduling, intake, document, client-care, service-coordination, and promotional follow-up messages. You may receive up to four program messages per month; messages in a conversation you initiate may be additional. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchasing tickets, goods, or services.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Lichen does not buy, sell, rent, or transfer mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data. Communications vendors and carriers may process this information solely to deliver messages, maintain consent and suppression records, prevent abuse, and provide the messaging service; they may not use it for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Cookies, analytics, and advertising choices
Essential storage may be used for security and basic site operation. Optional analytics and advertising storage is denied unless you affirmatively enable it through the Privacy & Analytics control. If enabled, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or configured advertising tools may process device and interaction data for measurement and advertising. You can withdraw that choice at any time through the same control. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that occurred while consent was active.
When we disclose information
We may disclose the information reasonably necessary to service providers that support hosting, security, email, scheduling, event ticketing, payments, analytics selected by the visitor, customer relationship management, document workflows, and communications. We may also disclose information to professional advisers; to a counterparty in a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale subject to appropriate safeguards; or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, or enforce agreements.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use event-registration information or SMS consent for third-party behavioral advertising. If our practices materially change, we will update this notice and obtain consent where required.
Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, an active relationship, security and dispute prevention, tax and accounting records, legal obligations, and the establishment or defense of claims. Retention periods vary by record type. Consent and opt-out records may be retained after other information is deleted so we can document and honor your choice.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and privacy requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we maintain about you, or object to or restrict certain uses. You may withdraw marketing consent and opt out of SMS as described above. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when an exception or legal obligation applies. If we deny a request, you may ask us to reconsider by replying to the decision. Authorized agents may submit requests where applicable law permits and adequate authority is provided.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. Browser-based opt-out preference signals are treated conservatively by keeping optional analytics and advertising off unless you affirmatively enable them on this site.
Children
Our website and services are directed to businesses and adults, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child provided information to us.
International processing
Some service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Ticket Tailor states that its ticketing infrastructure is hosted in the European Union and may use approved subprocessors. Where required, providers use contractual or other safeguards for international transfers.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our practices or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice or request consent before applying a materially different practice where required.
